pausing in the first psalm: the delight of the Divine (part 5; conclusion)

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away. Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish. (Psalms 1; KJV)

We have studied the ways of the "unblessed" individual and how their lives differ from the "blessed" - those favored by God. We have seen the backward progression of the ungodly as they walk away from His holy counsel and choose sinful activities instead of engage in His wise ways. We have learned about those whose antichrist beliefs have caused them to blatantly revolt against the King... those who have committed cosmic treason while assembling to dethrone His position and misguide His followers at all cost. All these examples are indeed dangerous ways in which NOT to live... warnings of what not to do so that we can live in assurance and enjoy the glorious grace and fullness of Jesus. But today, we will look at what living this full life looks like, why it is important, and how we will prosper as blessed women who belong to the Most High God.

"But her delight (the blessed woman's delight) is in the law of the LORD; and in God's law does she meditates day and night. And she shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth her fruit in her season; her leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever she does shall prosper... for the LORD knows the way of the righteous!"

Here the blessed woman is portrayed as a flourishing tree stationed near God's refreshing spring. Her life is fruitful and used richly at prescribed moments to advance the Father's will and benefit her eternal family. But how does she do it? How does she remain focused and avoid all selfish, worldly distractions and longings? How does this woman live as a blessed individual of Christ? The answer is simply this: She delights first in God's law. She meditates in His truth at all times: day and night. (Not just morning and evening... ALL DAY AND ALL NIGHT!) Her only focus is Jesus. Her only objective is being with her King... immersing herself in His presence and glorifying His Name. Nothing else is more valuable to her. Nobody else is more important to her. Jesus is her treasure. Jesus influences her WHOLE life. Because of Christ, she is able to live passionately and love others while spreading the hope of things to come! Jesus is the joy she shares. Jesus is the focus of her devotion.

One of the coolest things about God is that He is always drawing those closest to Him even closer! He is always in the business of refreshing, restoring, and renewing those that reach out to Him... those that know they need Him and desperately seek after His wise and holy counsel. Even in the worst of trials, God proves faithful. No matter what storm surfaces, God remains sovereign. His words are absolute and unchanging. His glory is unfathomable and immeasurable. His power is unmatched and astounding. His truth is reliable and eternal. His love... ah, His beautiful love is forever and ever!!!

The blessed woman realizes WHO God is and understands that His presence (even if unseen) will sustain her in every circumstance. With Jesus restoring her soul, her leaf does not whither! The Beloved joyously receives His bride and continues to assure her that His kingdom is also her kingdom. His rich company insures that she will indeed prosper and flourish under His Name.

Yes, the King's favor is granted to this blessed woman's audience, and their relationship produces yummy, delicious fruit (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control) as both parties abide in mutual love and respect of one another. The blessed woman is worthy of God's favor. Why? Because Christ gives her His inheritance so that she may benefit abundantly. Our Holy Husband gives His beloved bride EVERYTHING because He loves her that much and is inclined to receive her always!

Now, I ask you... who wouldn't want to be with this God? Who wouldn't want to wholeheartedly seek after and serve this Lover of Our Soul? Who wouldn't want to be romanced every day by the Prince of Peace who cares so deeply for us that His heart aches to be closer to us than He was in the last passing moment? Our Messiah wishes to unite with us in holy matrimony and become ONE in His Spirit! Every moment we live (no matter on earth or in heaven) is a glorious opportunity to uphold our end of the eternal love story that God intended for us to enjoy from the very beginning! (Somebody may have to start fanning me, for I may pass out from sheer delight!) This is the divine grace of a magnificent Savior in action. "Love" doesn't seem strong enough a word to convey His overwhelming desire to save us from ourselves and restore us unto His own.

So, THIS DAY IS THE DAY... ALL DAY... where the blessed woman claims, "My Lover is mine and I am His!" (Song of Solomon 2:16) Come all who are blessed and focus your affections on the Messiah-Hero... the Head of your everlasting household! Praise and receive your precious Fiance's gracious favor while preparing yourself for the coming festivities. For the chaff blowing in this wilderness will no longer matter when His harvest celebration comes! The boring distractions of antichrist will be overshadowed by the glory of the Lamb at our wedding feast! Yes, this is the day to delight in the law of the Lord... a law established for the good of His family! There is no time to waste in the counsel of the ungodly. There is no stand important enough to partake alongside sinners. There is no agenda worthy of our assembling in scorn and deliberation. No, our sweet, precious, worthy, wonderful JESUS is near and our time belongs to Him! Blessed be His Holy Name. Blessed be our holy family's name!!! Yes, my Lover is mine and I am His! I will embrace and praise the Lord on High who has captivated my heart and promised me a happily ever after secure in His arms!

"Let the beloved of the LORD rest secure in him, for he shields him all day long, and the one the LORD loves rests between his shoulders." (Deuteronomy 33:12)

The King of kings is the same yesterday, today, and forever! His love for us is worth EVERYTHING we know, have, and can give. My prayer is that you will embrace the truths of Psalm 1 and live in worship as a blessed Devoted Woman who is preparing herself for her wedding day with the most romantic Person you will ever encounter. Welcome the way of your loving Savior. Receive, trust, and serve the One whose counsel directs the whole love story of your life. Jesus the Redeemer promises to faithfully protect you as He escorts you home. Just let Him. His love is better than life. He is sooooo worth EVERYTHING!

Consider this question very carefully: According to God's word, are you indeed a blessed woman? In response, I encourage you to live each moment in honor of your eternal family. I challenge you to fixate your eyes on Jesus and obediently follow Him into your new life. For this is the day to delight yourself in the Divine, ladies. This is the day to live as His BLESSED!

Thanks for joining me in this study!

XOXOX!

Blessings!
