Ever since moving to a southern state, one thing I have really noticed is that the men here are generally more gentlemanly and manly men. No disrespect to the boys back North. I know several men there that have thoughtfully and intentionally increased their politeness levels. However, in my opinion, the level of sensitivity and courtesy initiated here in the southern states seems to be more plentiful. (It's wonderful!) As such, the more I encounter a hunky human hero of manly refinement, the more it causes me to want to be more ladylike in return, for their sake as well as mine.
On our weekly dinner date, my husband and I were discussing this very topic while considering the overall attractiveness and impact that civilized, social graces offer. And this got me thinking... thinking about my own life and my representation as a Christian woman... more importantly, as a Christian lady. For how often do I deliberately make the effort to behave in true ladylike fashion for the sake of Christ? How often do I act in a manner that showcases the classiness of God's kingdom - choosing to do so (to the best of my gifts and ability) as a refined, knowledgeable, and well-spoken ambassador of Jesus Christ?
Oh, what an opportunity and honor God has given each of us to reflect on the excellence of His kingdom! How paramount it is that His devoted women always choose to embrace their God-given femininity and accurately display His grace in the best possible and most becoming light of holiness.
So ladies, to this thought I encourage you to live graciously. Not just as well-mannered women, but as purified ladies who represent the elegance and love of Jesus Christ. Make each day a new, higher standard to offer up your heart, your attitude, your speech, your appearance - your whole life as a faithful representation and form of worship toward the King of kings! Align your femininity with God's holiness and be used as a beautiful reminder of Christ's exercised kindness, justice, and righteousness. You are important to God. You are treasured and blessed in His Name. Live as such! Live ladylike and display His grace!
Blessings!
