Let every heart prepare Him room...
I wasn't going to decorate this year.
I went back and forth about it.
But yesterday I realized something...
It is important to actually celebrate Jesus' birth!
Sure, I know that...
But I lazily wasn't thinking about my decorating for this coming Christmas in that way.
In my busyness, I had forgotten the why... the reason for the season... the purpose to actually celebrate outward and fully with sparkles and wreathes!
No, instead it was just another "to do" for me... and frankly, I'm already a bit tired.
Just another chore to complete.
Just another expectation that I must pull out and produce.
Just another humbug holiday...
Another "why bother"...
Wait... why bother?
Why not bother?!!!
Why not lift up Christ's birth center stage and throw twinkling lights and a huge spotlight on His arrival?
Isn't He worth the MOST praise?
Isn't His life worthy of my best and fullest worship?
Isn't my sweet Jesus the reason I am even alive?
Duh, Victoria! YES!!!
So, why not prepare Him room?
Why not listen to the Holy Spirit's voice and worship as fully and as openly as I am able?
Why not showcase the importance of His Way, His Truth, HIS LIFE(!) and step up to decorate on His behalf?!!!
To celebrate in advent, anticipation, appreciation?!!!
To promote the joyous truth and eternal hope of this wonderfully, blessed season, and the Savior who made it all possible?!!!
Yes, as our home's heart warrior, God helped me realize that it is important that I live my days encouraging my peeps to focus on the eternal gift of God's grace.
To use every opportunity, every gifted moment that He provides, singing and rejoicing in praise and thanksgiving!
So, today is Christmas decorating day here at the Anderson home;
And I am renewed and excited to share enthusiastically what Jesus' birth represents.
I am hopeful for what He has promised His people.
I am preparing Him room, quite literally... decorated, at the ready, blessed!
Sooo soooooo blessed.
Thank you, Lord, for the reminder and lesson!
Joy to the Word, for your Son comes to save!
Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. (Colossians 3:16)
:)
Happy Holidays, y'all!

I have this nativity set! I've had it since I was little and I still put it out. For the past couple of years I have left it up all year long. Love that I found it on your site. :)
