let the celebration begin! (part 1)

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the LORD Almighty will accomplish this. (Isaiah 9:6-7)

To us... addressed to you, me, and everyone who ever was, is, and is to come in all earth's history.

To us... a child is born. But not just any child. This is THE child who fulfills ancient prophecy. He is a descendant from the great king David. A child of father Abraham. A son, direct from the lineage of the first man, Adam.

To us... here we read the royal birth announcement of the SAVIOR! The One arriving with all Heaven's approval to be Messiah - our Jewish Mashiach, our Anointed King of kings, our Greek Christos - THE CHRIST given to all mankind! Here we are introduced to the One who will be born of this earth. A human capable of changing all the brokenness and sinfulness that exists within our corrupt race. He alone will restore. He alone will revive.

To us... to us we are given the Word made flesh. He is God among us. He is Israel's promised hope for peace! This all comes from One humble babe, whose mere arrival assures us freedom, justice, peace... LIFE! But what person born of this earth could accomplish such a miracle? What Son of Man is holy enough to lovingly oversee every world power, every leader, every person, every detail, while solving all earthly crises? Who holds such wisdom, power, wealth, strength, and global authority to successfully carry all government upon His shoulders?

To us... my mind fast forwards to times ahead in His glorious, risen presence. Times of eternal laughter and joy as the faithful are seated around the jubilant wedding supper of the Lamb - around the blessed Son of man... around the anointed Son of God. Upon His throne, this King of kings will raise His wine glass and toast His eternal love... TO US! To His people. To His believers. To His beloved bride!

Then the angel said to me, “Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!” And he added, “These are the true words of God.” (Revelation 19:9)

To us... oh, how precious a LOVE is this! Joy to the world indeed. For the Lord has come to save! So, let the celebration begin this holiday season as we commemorate the birth of our Savior and proclaim our allegiance to the One and only, JESUS! Glory to God in the Highest!

Friends, let us praise and worship the Wonderful Counselor! Let us rejoice and extend our thankfulness to the Mighty God! Let us sacrifice our whole hearts, souls, minds, and strength to the Everlasting Father! For no One is more worthy than our Prince of Peace! For to us a child is born! To us a son is given!

As the Lord zealously gives Himself to us, let us unreservedly give ourselves today (and every day)... TO JESUS!

Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come! (Revelation 4:8)
