forty-six

I will praise the Lord all my life;  I will sing praise to my God as long as I live.  (Psalm 146:2)

Today I am thankful to have reached forty-six years of age.
Forty-six years of life in which I have existed.
A life full of much joy and deep sorrow.
Sure, one may ask if I would change anything.
Perhaps.
But if I did, would I become someone different than who I am today?

So, no.... really... leave everything as it is... and as it was.
Some failures.
Some embarrassments.
Some betrayals.
Some brokenness.
Many, many mistakes with so many selfish twists and turns.
But also, soooo many great stories, big surprises, wonderful celebrations, and huge blessings.
So many lessons and miracles.
So many moments of awe and wonder under the covering of God's grace.
Because through it all, my Jesus has walked beside me.
My Jesus, who stays the same... constant... holy.
Who loves me more.
Who is the beginning and end of everything.
The Alpha and Omega.
My all in all.
Hallelujah to the King of kings!
My birthday wish is for the whole world to know His peace.

Yes, today is another new day that I will celebrate all that God has generously provided.
The NEW me He still teaches, and guides, and restores.
The new life He gives and gives.

Blessed be His Name always!
For I am thankful in every breath He allows.
I am grateful for His everlasting hope.
I am anxious for His perfect Kingdom.
I am alive solely for His glory!

My life is just as it should be, and I will entrust all that I am to His perfect, active plan.
I will glorify His sovereign rule.
I will praise Him no matter what joy or sorrow is still to come!

For He is with me forever.
He loves me forever.
He is my God forever.
(Really, there is no greater gift than knowing that!)

I love you, Jesus!
Use my life, my heart, my mind, my soul, my strength, my all!
I am yours forever!!!

Yes, thank you, Lord, for another birthday.
But more importantly, thank you for continuing to make me new in lovely, beautiful YOU!

Blessings!
